I have always used the classic transom mount transducers and I have also had to deal with interference from the turbulence of the engine while trolling. I installed this unit on the bottom back of my 19 ft Carolina skiff and I will never use anything else! It has crystal clear transmission and flawless design. I will warn you about the installation process. Do not by any means get epoxy on the threads of the unit. I spent HOURS fixing an accidental spreading of epoxy if the threads.
