Gotta admit...I'm a Boston Acoustics fan...this is my third set of BA speakers...but my first set of Pro 50's...
Likes...
Very natural sounding...put a little power to them and they really stand out...

Dislikes...
Bass is a little "underpowered"...I just upped my equialization at the low end a bit...now it's fine...
You will see where many folks think the highs in this tweeter are too harsh, to sharp...
And they can be...but for my 70 year old ears...I just backed the equalization off at the top end a bit and things settled right in...

It's too bad that BA has stopped making these lovely speakers...you can still get them...and there are a few Pro60's around
but you gotta do some Googlin' to find them...

I have looked at other speakers in the same price range, Alpine and Focal...for my ears and my musical tastes, the Alpine don;t
quite have "it"...and to get the Focal model I want, I just can't afford them...So I found these Pro50's for a decent price and grabbed them...glad I did...

For comparison...musical tastes are folk, bluegrass, blues...lot's of old Delta and Piedmont blues...lots of guitar based stuff...
Alpine deck, and the little Alpine 4 channel amp...

I run 2 RE8's as subs from a small Sony amp...but I have them crossed over at about 400 cps so they act more as
a woofer rather than a sub-woofer...I don;t care for boom boom...I just like the bottom end filled out a bit...
