Gitzo GT3840C Series 3 Basalt Compact Tripod Review

I purchased this on a Black Friday deal because of the Gitzo reputation for quality. It does work smoother than my other carbon fiber tripods by Benro and Giottos but it is really too short to be of any use while standing. I guess I could save it for camping with my tripod but then it would be special use only and it is really too expensive to be used just a few times a year. This would be great if you do a lot of prone or sitting scoping/photography. I think I am sending it back, much to my disappointment.
