I have never used SSD before, but once I reviwed the requirements along with the commentary of other users I installed a fresh OS as reccomended. I paid aproximately $40 more for the KC300 than the V300, mainly because of faster read/writes times. I used an external drive as a rstore file. operation is very vry quiet and boot up and shutdown is seemless. I would reccommend reading about the technology. Defragmentation studies are avaiable using 5 -6 different defrag engines/apps and the number are pretty conclusive- No added value- these drive do not need defrag thanks to SMART tachnology and a BIOS that is AHCI enabled.In my opinion.
