While the power ratings are dubious, this sub sounds great with some DIY bookshelf speakers that I use for music. It sounds very transparent and tight, but not as loud as I expected. Maybe because it's not ported and boomy like a lot of HT subs are. I'd like to add a second Minivee 10 for a bit more sound and better imaging. I would recommend not using the signal pass-through because it seems to have a fixed high-pass filter on it.
