The ASUS HD6950 is factory overclocked to perform 10MHz higher than stock performance at 810MHz. With ASUS' exclusive Voltage Tweak, it promises up to 50 percent faster performance.ASUS ATI Radeon HD6950 2GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/2x Mini DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card EAH6950/2DI2S/2GD5 Review
Card is built well - it's a reference card, but the HSF cover is aluminum rather than plastic like most, making it more solid and achieving slightly better cooling efficiency. Factory overclock of 10MHz.Don't bother flashing this card with a 6970 BIOS - potentially dangerous as the memory timings and voltages are different (and this card only has two 6-pin PCIe power connectors unlike the 6970 that has a 6-pin and an 8-pin, so it obviously can't draw the same amount of power). Many report artifacting when doing so as reported by another reviewer. Simply mod the existing BIOS to unlock the disabled shaders (easy with a bit of googling). Then download MSI Afterburner and use that to overclock the card beyond what ATI's control center will allow you. I'm currently running it at stock core voltage with a core clock of 890MHz and a memory clock of 1350MHz with no problems. I encountered artifacting and crashing (only running Crysis, though) when I tried upping the voltage, but luckily that isn't even necessary to give this card a decent overclock. Also, remember to go into ATI's control center, enable AMD Overdrive, and change the Power Control Setting to +20%. You'll have an effective 6970 (or possibly better) for the price of your 6950. As long as your case has good airflow, overheating shouldn't be an issue.
Combine this card with a good CPU, and you'll be flying! Played Crysis at max settings no problem. Granted, I'm only running a 1400x900 monitor currently. That's gonna be my next upgrade...
