A long-standing friend of mine in the U.K. recently had to replace his ancient analogue Loewe TV, because after many years of faithful service, one evening it finally gave up the ghost (it was sadly unrepairable, due to lack of spare parts) and obviously needed replacing at short notice.
Ironically he saw the Samsung UE40F6500 the very first day that it was put on display at his local branch of John Lewis and after inspecting various competing manufacturers HD screens in the immediate vicinity, he decided to purchase this Samsung model there and then.
I have to say that by comparison with earlier flatscreen TV panels of a few years back, the UE40F6500 has an attractive and remarkably thin bezel, which makes viewing HD TV broadcasts an absolute pleasure.
Incidentally there are occasions when I still find it somewhat disconcerting to view such a large picture without discernible distortion, yet which also remains consistently pin sharp from edge to edge. Bearing in mind how slim this TV actually is, in my opinion the internal speakers seem to do a pretty good job of conveying sound overall. Additionally the chrome-finish stand mount is thankfully 'wobble-free' when the LCD panel is attached, making the TV feel
reassuringly solid !
During his visit to the store my friend experienced an impressive 3D demonstration whilst wearing a pair of active glasses and is currently thinking about buying a suitable Blu-ray player in the near future.
