Product Description

The Linksys Switch with WebView allows you to expand your network securely. Configuration of the switch is secured using SSL for Web access. User control is secured with 802.1x security using a RADIUS authentication mechanism and can also be controlled using MAC-based filtering.Extensive QoS features make the solution ideal for real-time applications like Voice and Video. The 4 priority queues together with the Weighted Round Robin and Strict Priority scheduling techniques facilitate efficient coexistence of real-time traffic with data traffic allowing them each to meet their QoS needs. Individual users or applications can be prioritized above others using various Class of Service options - by port, Layer 2 priority (802.1p), and Layer 3 priority (ToS or DSCP). Intelligent broadcast and multicast storm controls minimize and contain the effect of these types of traffic on regular traffic. IGMP Snooping limits bandwidth-intensive video traffic to only the requestors without flooding all users. Incoming traffic can be policed and outgoing traffic can be shaped allowing you to control network access and traffic flow.

Cisco SRW224G4P 24-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch - WebView/PoE Review

We bought a few of theses for a voip phone system that we had used some poe dlink switches with(went with theses since they were cheaper) after installing and spending about 2 hours configuring the thing to do basic vlan tagging. We discovered that after putting 24 phones on the thing it cant power our intercom device. We then decided to spend the $300 on the dlinks rather than this (they were $200) since it only takes about 20 min to get everything set up and going. The web interface takes a minimum of 30 seconds to load each page, you can't do anything over telnet or ssh other than set usernames and passwords which the thing decides to not accept and use and locks you out. Over all cisco should be ashamed to release something with this bad of a web interface and not make the telnet usable even if it is under the linksys name. Also one thing that is a nice security flaw is that it advertises over UPnP that "hey im a switch that shouldn't be known about except for by admins. Come try and hack me!"
