GV-BL220D Surveillance/Network Camera - Color, Monochrome Review

This is a very nice 2mp IP camera. Daytime Image quality is spectacular. Varifocal lens is nice as is Poe capability. The camera size is large, larger than you might expect. The pivot adjustment has very course notching on it which limits the fine adjustments of camera position. The camera housing must be opened to adjust the varifocal lens and focus. The manufacturer provides desiccant packages to insert in the camera body to absorb moisture and prevent fogging, a weird design. I'll see over the winter whether this works or not (there does not appear to be an internal heater). The night vision LED's are not very strong and don't provide enough IR illumination to provide a useable, clean, noise free image at night. I had to install a separate IR illuminator to produce an adequate night image (still not noise free but much better than what the camera provided on its own).
