Manfrotto Lino Men's PRO Photo Vest - XXL Review

I just received the XXL size of this vest. It is well made. Includes one padded insert for a pocket. The insert can serve as a knee pad, which I think is a great idea. The photos would have you believe that this "Itaiian Design" vest has those sexy, tapered sides. No, not the case. The one in the photos must have been pinned back to get that look. Not a big issue for me. At least the design is kind of clean and simple. Amazon has a reduced price on this vest, but still kind of pricey. I would not pay what the big New York photo stores are asking for it. Not really worth the higher price IMO.

Vixen Optics 39955 4.7-Inch Telescope (White) Review

My original review for this scope, tripod combo was mostly positive but after using the scope for a few months I've encountered some problems that have ultimately left me disappointed.

There are a lot of comments around the net about the varying quality of the scope itself and I'd like to point out that due to a shipping error I ended up with 2 scopes and 1 tripod and Amazon let me keep both scopes (so hey, go Amazon) so I've had two to test.

First the pros:
- The tripod is amazing. I'm keeping this whole thing because of the tripod and using it with my other scopes. Smooth and stable Alt-Az. Slow motion controls make it easy to track objects, the best Alt-Az of the few I've used.
- The focusing knob is very smooth. It takes a very light touch. There is however a ton of flex in the mirror and you pretty much need to keep your hand on the tripod controls when focusing.
- The flip mirror idea is pretty cool. However I put a diagonal on the rear so I could switch quickly between 2 eyepieces and this resulted in a huge difference in focusing. When one eyepiece is in focus the other is so far out of focus that stars don't even show up as blobs. This doesn't happen when it's just straight through.
- The eyepiece is really nice. It's substantial and I love the twist up eyecups (I'm now converted to only buying eyepieces that have this feature)

Now the cons:
-The red dot finder is junk. I replaced it with a celestron red dot finder. On one of the finders a calibration knob broke and started free spinning while I was adjusting it making it completely useless. Besides being flimsy the dot is actually very hard to see compared to my other one.
-The mirrors flex A LOT. In both the flip mirror and the straight through at medium power stars you can see the stars focus and defocus and it's frankly, incredibly annoying. I thought this might be due to bad seeing or tube currents but I've tested it a bunch and I'm pretty sure it's not.
-Speaking of focus, the ability to get a sharp focus with this scope is the ultimate con for this scope. Forget ever going above 86x (a 12mm eyepiece). The image will be too soft and fuzzy to be useable. Also as mentioned the flexing becomes more apparent the stronger the eyepiece. And this scope is very unforgiving under even minimally poor seeing. Even with a low powered eyepiece there's a cloudy glow around stars. I kept giving the scope the benefit of the doubt and kept trying different eyepiece types and different star diagonals in the rear. I also checked the collimation almost every way I have the ability to do, I star tested both of them, collimation cap, I even stared down the barrel from 20 feet away.

The worst thing is that it will occasionally focus incredibly well. It will be just super sharp and I kept saying "Hey, it was just bad seeing". But after finally getting a string of good nights in a row to test this scope side by side with my 5" reflector and 70mm refractor this scope just doesn't cut it.

TL;DR: The mount is great, buy the mount by itself. The scope's focus flexes too much and will become incredibly frustrating.

I bought this camera kit for my family and our trip to NYC. We used the camera extensively on our trip and everyone loved the beautiful pictures it took. The Canon T3i is a fantastic camera and pairing it with the Sigma 18-200 makes it a great all around camera without the need to switch out lenses all the time. The camera will take a rookie (such as myself) a while to learn all the settings, but out of the box a person can set the camera and lens on auto and you will be amazed of the simplicity and quality. No more missing my children's candid shots! This kit is by far the best deal you can get with the 18-200 lens; Purchasing these items separately would not be as cost effective as ordering them in this kit. I did realized that although the bag was very handy on my trip, it fell apart very quickly. I will be ordering a new bag on Amazon today because the straps are cheap and broke off within a few days of use. The tripod is also a bit flimsy but for my use it will work fine and was a bonus item for me anyway. All in all this kit is still a great deal for someone getting started in using higher end DSLR cameras.

VIZIO SV370XVT - 37" Widescreen 1080p LCD HDTV - 120Hz - 50,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio - 5ms Response Time Review

I have been interested in buying an HDTV for some time now. I have been doing research for month on what all the specs mean and what I need in a TV. If you are new to HDTV I would recommend visiting CNET's site it has a lot of information that is very useful about TVs.
Now on to this particular TV, I have tried to be honest. The SV370XVT picture is better than I had expected for the price. I was ready to spend a lot more to get a good picture but this TV exceeded all of my expectations for picture quality. I use my laptop right now to up convert normal DVDs, and all that I can say is that the people look real! I have an over the air antenna and some channel look as good as the DVDs. The TV itself has a very nice design, it has a glossy black finish with a thin frame around the screen, and the depth is really nice if you are going to mount it to a wall! The speakers put out good sound, my parents have a surround sound system and TV doesn't sound that good but it is good. The remote is very slim and easy enough to use after you get used to it, it has capability to be a universal remote but I cannot get that to work. The volume and channel buttons light up when you push them (which is nice), but I would like it if all of the buttons did. The TV offers many different aspect or zoom features which I love. The media port on the side is very easy to use and I have had no problem viewing video or picture and listening to music. The 120Hz seems to make the motion very smooth, I have only noticed blur on channel that are not HD. I haven't played with the picture settings yet but CNET offers a good guide on how to do it. The picture in picture feature is nice only if you don't want to use it to see what is on another channel (the only reason I really would), it only allows you to see picture from a different input than the one that you are currently playing. I have had no problems with this TV yet (if I do you'll hear from me) and have been extremely pleased with it. I was extremely skeptical of VIZIO but they have really proved themselves.

PROS: Great Picture quality, ease of setup, 120Hz, design, media port, 3 HDMI inputs.

CONS: PIP doesn't allow for channel surfing, remote doesn't light all the way up.

All in all this is AN EXCELLENT TV!!
