For the price, having looked around and not wanted to justify the price difference for the XA10, I'm very happy with this purchase. I realize different people have the need for different applications and a desire for different features, but for my uses this works for everything I currently need and I can get very high quality results from it. To be fair, I primarily use this for straight forward shooting in a studio for some martial arts instructional videos with specific lighting, and don't do much outdoor shooting. However, when I do outdoors, it works just as well. The action/movements are captured well and, for the instructional videos I can run the wireless or overhead mics normally into an audio mixing board and the output ran into the mic input line with crystal clear audio results. Some of my other camcorders add hissing, humming or other noise, but this one is super quiet. The on board mic isn't bad either. I run this into an NLE such as Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas and I have no problems at all. I get results good enough to where the quality of the videos are all based upon the quality of the content, so the applications and amount of quality are limitless for anything I can imagine.
