Let me preface this review by saying I know my computers. I'm an IT tech, so I live and breathe computers. That being said, I'm very pleased with this unit.

Typically Lenovo (formerly IBM) has a pretty good track record and I've been pleased with other Lenovo computers that I've owned, and after looking at the specs and price of several models, I opted for this one. It's not the most powerful machine on the market, but it is a step above most other consumer-level models. I do a lot of video editing and play games occaisionally, so I wanted something moderately priced that would handle the workload. I've been using this unit for several weeks now, and have been extremely pleased with its performance thus far.

The only thing I've really done is that I threw in a moderate video card (bought for about $125 from Best Buy) and upgraded it to Windows 7 Pro because I wanted the ability for full remote access. But for your average user, that wouldn't be necessary. So, all things said and done, for about $600 I've got a computer that I would pit against any other unit on the market for that price range.

If you're looking for a good desktop unit that will give you mid-level performance for base-line price, go with this one. I'd recommend it to anyone.
