Peavey CS4080 - 4080 Watt Power Amplifier Review

The Peavey CS 4080Hz is a terrific power amp that will provide clean power and plenty of headroom. I run two of these actually in my PA...one to drive a pair of Yamaha C215V mains and another for monitor/subwoofer duty. It includes Peavey's DDT (Distortion Detection Technology) which will lower the volume when it detects a clipped waveform...but in my experience, the 4080Hz provides so much headroom that unless you set your gain stages all out of whack you're not likely to need the DDT (although it's nice to know it's there). I recently ran sound at an outdoor fundraiser...only had the 4080's turned up halfway and I could hear crystal clear sound a block and half down the street. I highly recommend this amp...they are reliable, powerful and a worthy aire to the legendary Commercial Series amplifiers Peavey built in the 70's.
