Great sighting system! Don't let some of the bad reviews out there change your mind on this sight. I think some of those reviews are from people who aren't comfortable with this odd looking system. I guess because its not traditional looking optic, they steer away from it. Let me tell you about my experience with it. First off, I have the C-TAC model mounted on my Rock River patrol rifle. I take this rifle with me on patrol everyday. I like the heads up display on the small, round window because it still keeps my field of vision very open. I'm not confined to looking through a tube-type optic. I can clear a house or an open area with both eyes open and have little visual interferance. I have nothing against tube-type optics. I have an Aimpiont Comp3 on another AR at home, but I have found that this optic works better for me in a patrol enviornment. It is also smaller than a traditional optic which is very convient at times. Another benifit that I found was this...I recently got dispathced to a physical fight / man with a gun call. On my arrival, I had no time to turn the optic on. It was a high priority, fast moving incident. All I had time to do was grab the rifle (mounted next to me) and confront the situation. This system allowed me to shoulder the rifle and use the iron sights instantly. If I was using my Aimpoint, I would have had to flip down both optic covers and then turn the optic on. I absoutly had no time to do that. There was no fooling around, readying the optic. It was "go" time and seconds counted. It worked great! Anyways, thats my two cents. Think of your needs and find the right optic. If your not in L.E., you may not need this type of system, but either way, I have found it to be a good product.
