Line 6 XD-V70 Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone System Review

I bought this mic to use for a live rock band, about 6 months ago,. But, before I begin let me tell you, Having toured in bands all over the country as a Singer/ Guitar player and having been a studio owner, and live sound tech, this is about the 4th or 5th wireless mic I have had (and about the 10th wireless system) I have used in the last 20 years. I bought this after hearing that it had a better range than other mics for around the same price. let me tell you. THIS MIC IS AWESOME!!! for the price it cannot be beat!!! and it sounds great to boot!! (and I have always used wireless's with 58 capsules but this actually sounds much more present and punchy,. almost like a cross between a 58/ beta58/ EV 747 and a senhiezer,. (i forget which Senhiezer, but the senhiezer everybody used live in the 70's and 80's ... whatever) the point is this thing actually sounds great as well as has an ENORMOUS RANGE, trust me you will hear the delay in your voice as you distance your self from the pa getting on your nerves way before this mic goes out of range of the receiver,. when i bought it i actually went outside and walked and entire city block,... had to call my wife on my cell phone to ask her when it lost reception since i was way to far away to still hear it set up inside my studio no line of sight, nothing,. and the thing still had reception..
UN-Be-F*ING-LEAV-ABLE!.
It also has mic modeling,. I have never used it,. (could care less about it). Im sure it's nice..However I was baffled that they would employ their fancy modeling circuitry to do something like that rather than just use it to build a reverb or delay or choruse onboard the mic it's self? (That would have been insainly bitchen...hint,hint!!) But whatever...Having owned a line 6 pod, and produced some records using Line 6 amps, i really wasn't expecting much from this mic, (don't get me wrong their amp modeling stuff is cool,. but i am spoiled by the real stuff, (Matchless, Hughs and Ketner, Soldano, Bogner etc..) so i didn't dig their amp modeling stuff all that much,.. But this mic on the other hand,. really delivers!!! I am now shopping for another i can keep separate for other gigs i do as well. I am really blown away!
again the only request,. (if i could call it that) is that they use their modeling to create an onboard effects engine that could have been controlled by the singer, IE Auto-
TUNE, Verb, Delay, Compression.... I could really use that!!! but still love the mic, i am now a diehard Line 6 mic user!!! WIll be until someone can deliver a better mic for the money! I would even use this to record if i had to,. REALLY! it actually sounds that good!
