This thing is absolutely amazing. My jaw dropped when I got home and saw how big the box was. This thing is gigantic! I was looking for something sturdy and professional to hold an alienbee and a 47 inch octobox. I ended up sending this stand back and getting the step down from this one because this was just overkill. I shoot mostly on location and, while it does a phenomenal job holding my gear steady, it's way too heavy to lug around. And honestly, it's so big, it just looks a little ridiculous carrying it around outside. If you want a super sturdy, WAY heavy duty stand for use inside your studio, or if you happen to have an assistant that you can dedicate to carrying this thing around for you (a full time job in my opinion) then go for this one!I now have the A4039CS Steel combo stand which is also very heavy duty, but much less bulky and heavy. These are not your regular $80 aluminum, lightweight stands. These are very heavy gauge steel through and through, no plastic knobs or connections.
